Ohio State Marion seeks members of first class and beyond Golden anniversary celebration wants personal stories of the first class and others over 50 year history Ohio State Marion Communications The Ohio State University at Marion is seeking alumni, faculty, staff, and others who were part of the Marion campus at any time during its 50 year history to share their stories and be involved in the campus’ Golden Anniversary celebration. In particular, the campus is seeking those who were among the 166 students enrolled in Ohio State’s first classes offered in Marion, October 1957 at Harding High School, or the early years leading up to and including the construction and opening of Morrill Hall in1968. If you were a member of the first class, or an Ohio State alumnus who attended the Marion campus at anytime during the past 50 years, the university would like to hear your story. The goal is to share the personal experiences and memories of the first class and subsequent students through anniversary publications, news articles, web pages, and displays on campus and through out Ohio State Marion’s seven county service area. Stories of how Ohio State Marion has had a positive impact on careers and the lives of alumni, as well as unique on campus experiences are of specific interest. Alumni and friends of the university are invited to take part in the Golden Anniversary celebration. The core of the campus’ celebration events will take place the week of May 12 through May 19, 2007, with a communitywide day of celebration on the Marion campus May 19.
